Conservation Stewardship Program

The Conservation Stewardship Program is run by the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) branch of the United States Department of Agriculture. CSP is a five-year contract with NRCS to improve and/or maintain an eco-service on one’s agricultural land for the payment by NRCS of $18 per acre each year. Upon receiving an accepted application, landowners get a one-on-one consultation to develop a conservation plan for their land as well as be guaranteed to receive payments to maintain healthy eco-service practices on their land for five years.
